MCRI Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Celebrates Project Successes

by | 12 Sep 2016 | News

After years of planning and fundraising, Phase 1 of the Mission Creek Restoration Initiative is complete and already providing flood-protection and environmental benefits. To mark the occasion, a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will be held September 14th from 1:30-3:30 on the new dike along the expanded floodplain between Casorso Road and Gordon Drive on the south side of the creek.

Join MCRI planning team members as they acknowledge the efforts of MCRI funders, elected officials and government staff, Okanagan Nation Alliance and Westbank First Nation partners, NGOs, contractors, UBCO and Okanagan College professors and students, Mission Creek landowners, and citizen volunteers.

Enjoy presentations, tours, displays, entertainment, and refreshments as you meet fellow supporters to celebrate Phase 1 and to envision future successes.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP to jo@freshoutlookfoundation.org.
